Changes
For years, the Wind Music Association Tyrol has been giving musicians the opportunity to train in the Tyrolean Wind Music Week. The focus of this week is on making music together. Musicians from all over the Tyrol meet to work together and every year a new orchestra is formed. In addition to playing in the orchestra, there are also further training opportunities, e.g. a conducting course for active conductors or composing/arranging courses. A top-class team of instructors is available to the musicians throughout the week and it is also possible to make music with a répétiteur. In the final concert we can present our progress and our work of this week. And we are looking forward to the possibility of giving our final concert at the Hofburg. Since we don't know before the Tyrolean Wind Week what the final result will be, we reserve the right to make changes to the programme.
Andreas Simbeni studied horn, instrumental pedagogy, ensemble conducting, wind orchestra conducting, instrumentation and composition in Graz, Vienna, Linz and Bolzano. He has been teaching ensemble conducting for wind orchestra at the ÖO Landesmusikschulwerk since 2004 and is director of the Regionalmusikschule Sieghartskirchen. From 2011 to 2015 he studied wind orchestra conducting at the Bolzano Conservatory with Prof. Thomas Doss. Since 2012 he has been conductor of the Akademische Bläserphilharmonie Wien and since 2016 conductor of the Danubia Symphonic Winds. As a guest conductor, he works with the Brass Band Sachsen, the Landesjugendblasorchester Steiermark and various district selection orchestras, among others.
