CATCHBASINBRASSBAND
The Brass Band of the Music School was founded in 2009 with the aim of forming a body of sound that offers all brass and percussion players of the Music School the opportunity to make music together. Under the direction of Andreas Lackner, advanced students work on demanding concert literature.

At their numerous concerts in Austria and abroad, the young musicians have impressed audiences with excellent performances. In 2018, the CatchBasinBrassBand was runner-up in the European Championships in Utrecht (Holland), in 2019 in Montreux (Switzerland) for the first time, and in 2022 they managed to defend their title in Birmingham (United Kingdom).

The "CatchBasinBrassBand" of the Innsbruck Music School will represent Innsbruck, Tyrol and Austria at the European Brass Band Championships 2023 in Malmö (Sweden). In addition, the ensemble will compete there again to defend its title.

INN SEIT'N BIG BAND
The Inn Seit'n Big Band of the Music School of the City of Innsbruck was founded in 2008 by Christian Wegscheider and Thomas Steinbrucker.
In addition to the numerous ensembles and orchestras of the school, the students of the music school also have a large body of sound in the field of jazz and popular music at their disposal. In the first years of its existence, Christian Wegscheider formed the young members into a team - at that time still under the name Big Band Innsbruck Youngsters. Since 2013, Thomas Steinbrucker has been at the head of the band.

The Inn Seit'n Big Band can look back on a large number of concerts and performances in Tyrol and Germany. The programme includes well-tried works arranged for big band, but also new ones. The latter are mainly compositions by local jazz greats and can also be heard on their first studio recording "EIN AUS SICHTEN".
