The Legend of King Arthur

The Brass Band Fröschl Hall, the oldest of its kind in Austria, was founded by Hannes Buchegger at the end of the 1980s. From the beginning, the aim was to emulate the typical (English) sound ideal for this instrumentation and to present brass music at the highest level. Intensive rehearsals with excellent brass players and percussionists, the lively handling of as many musical styles as possible in the incomparable brass sound and the high level soon led to great popularity of the ensemble. Numerous CD recordings and competition victories at the European Championships in Montreux, London, Kerkrade and Munich within the 'Challenge Section' testify to this. The band's greatest national achievement was winning the National Brass Band Competition in 2017 and subsequently competing at the European Brass Band Championships at the highest level in Utrecht. After more than 25 years, Hannes Buchegger handed over the musical direction to Joe Laube, the band's house and court arranger. Since 2017, the Brass Band Fröschl Hall has been conducted by Corsin Tuor from Switzerland. The band's prosperous development has been and continues to be made possible by the generous financial and idealistic support of the Fröschl family of building contractors from Hall and the town of Hall.
Corsin Tuor (*1963) grew up in Trun (GR/CH). After his studies in euphonium and brass band conducting, he conducted various formations, including Cerchel musical dalla Surselva, Brass Band Rickenbach, Brass Band MG Risch-Rotkreuz and Brassband Bürgermusik Luzern. He currently conducts the Brass Band Berner Oberland, the Brass Band Fröschl Hall (A), the Concert Band of the 3BA (DE) and is bandleader of the Mountain Swing Big Band. With his brass bands he has won numerous competitions and recorded a large number of albums. Corsin Tuor received the Promotion Prize of the Canton of Graubünden and the Culture Prize of the Municipality of Trun. He is currently a lecturer in brass band conducting at the Bern University of the Arts and head of department at the Lucerne Music School. As co-owner of lucerne music edition, he is a music publisher and producer and works as an arranger and composer. Numerous jury activities complete his musical work.
